Review: Texas + KT Tunstall at Eden Session’s

There are many things you can justifiably expect from a Best of Texas gig – stunning vocals, slick musicianship, the camaraderie of a band 35 years into their tenure, and a huge back catalogue of hits – and all were delivered at last nights Eden Sessions, but what you might not expect is just how much laughter – deep, genuine laughter – you will produce in the course of this sensational evening.

KT Tunstall Live At Eden

In a perfectly paired opening spot KT Tunstall delivered an electrifying performance that showcased her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence. The setlist seamlessly blended her classic hits with newer tracks, captivating the audience from start to finish. Tunstall's skill-full guitar play and genuine connection with fans created an intimate atmosphere, even in a larger venue. Her storytelling between songs added a personal touch, allowing listeners to engage with her music on a deeper level. Overall, the concert highlighted Tunstall's artistic evolution and reinforced her status as a talented live performer.

Texas Live At Eden

Texas delivered a captivating performance during their live concert at this year’s Eden Sessions, showcasing their signature blend of pop and rock that has resonated with fans for decades. The energy in the venue was palpable as the band opened with some of their classic hits, inviting the audience to sing along. Sharleen Spiteri's powerful vocals were complemented by the tight instrumentals from the band, creating a sound that was both polished and raw. Sharleen Spiteri still has the energy of a 25-year-old on the stage and looks like she has hardly aged since those 1980s days as she swaps the green guitar for the keyboards and the first cover version of the night with Al Green track Tired Of Being Alone, proving that she is an all round musician.

As the set goes on, even a casual listener recognizes the hits and it happens with such regularity that no one is left out of the fun. ‘Summer Son’, ‘Black Eyed Boy’, ‘Say What You Want’, ‘Inner Smile’… I’m willing to bet we know people who could sing every word of these songs without even knowing they’re by Texas.
